The Language Camp is an annual programme organised by the FLL Ambassador, Faculty of Languages and Linguistics, aimed at promoting early exposure to foreign languages among school students. This initiative familiarises young learners with global languages while encouraging interest in intercultural understanding.
For the 2025 edition, the camp was held at SK Methodist, Petaling Jaya, involving 30 students from the Faculty as facilitators across six language programmes: Japanese, Spanish, Italian, German, French, and Arabic. Their participation reflects the Faculty’s commitment to supporting multilingual proficiency and providing meaningful community engagement opportunities for students.
A total of 90 pupils from Year 5 and Year 6 joined the activities, where they were introduced to basic vocabulary, cultural elements, and interactive tasks designed to make language learning enjoyable. The programme also emphasised the development of essential soft skills, including communication, leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving.
The event took place on 6 November 2025, from 8.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m., and received positive feedback from teachers, facilitators, and students. The Language Camp continues to demonstrate the Faculty’s commitment to community outreach and to nurturing a multilingual and culturally aware younger generation.
