On 28th June 2025, FLL joined forces with the Japanese Club of Universiti Malaya (JCUM) to host the third edition of Hanabi Taikai at the Perdanasiswa Complex. Throughout the day, guests moved between yukata‑try‑on corners, calligraphy and origami workshops, game stalls and student‑led cultural performances, sampling Japanese street‑food favourites along the way.
The evening programme opened with a rousing taiko‑drum set and a Bon‑odori circle that quickly filled with participants from across the UM community and our external partners. The celebration culminated in a vibrant fireworks display—“hanabi” in Japanese—symbolising friendship and shared discovery across cultures.
