On 12th April 2025, the Student Society of Chinese Language and Linguistics (SSoCLL) had the great pleasure of welcoming five outstanding seniors from diverse professional fields to share their insights in their workplaces. The event was packed with practical advice and eye-opening perspectives, helping juniors gain a clearer understanding and better preparation for their future career paths.
Highlight from the Sharing Session:
(A) Effective Communication in Workplace - Cheong Wen Ying
She emphasized the importance of clear, confident communication and how becoming an effective communicator can really set you apart in the workplace.
(B) Challenges and Strategies of Cross-Industrial Collaboration - Teoh Hung Min
Through real-life case studies, she showed us how complex but rewarding cross-industrial teamwork can be—and how crucial it is to be adaptable, organized, and clear in your role.
(C) Power of Introverts at the Workplace - Marilyn Wong Zhen
She talked about how focus, thoughtfulness, and deep listening can be powerful strengths in the workplace especially for introverts.
(D) Conflict Management and Resolution Strategies in the Workplace - Ling Ying
She reminded us that conflict isn’t inherently bad—it’s how we respond that defines the outcome.
(E) Mastering Online Collaboration - Puen Yong Jia
Improving work efficiency starts with more than just knowing the tools—it’s about using them effectively and strategically.
