General Programme Information

Students are awarded the Bachelor of Chinese Language and Linguistics / Bachelor of Tamil Language and Linguistics upon completion of 124 credits of studies. The programme structure for the Bachelor of Chinese Language and Linguistics / Bachelor of Tamil Language and Linguistics is as follows:

Opportunities for Further Studies/Learning Experience include:

  • Obtaining scholarships for studies in host countries e.g. scholarships from the China government for students who have completed Bachelor of Chinese Language and Linguistics (Kongzi Institute scholarships, China Government Schorlarship, etc.)

Graduates from Chinese Programme can work in:

  • Business Consulting Companies, such as Banks, Telecommunications and Corporate Companies as Customer Ambassadors / Human Resource Officers / Marketing Officers / Information Officers (their language proficiency can help Chinese companies to globalize and foreign companies to localize in terms of making import/export sales).
  • Education field (as facilitators / trainers / language teachers / text book writers, social care workers at private or government schools /centre etc.)
  • Media line, such as newspaper, television, radio and internet (as news writers/ editorial assistants/ journalists/ translators/ copywriters/ web content editors in particular masss media communication.
