Japanese language major student won the 2016 JAL Scholarship

Ms. Lee Hui Wern, a first year Japanese language major student, has won the 2016 JAL Scholarship Program. She will be representing Malaysia to participate in a 23 days (27 June - 19 July, 2016) program organised by JAL Foundation, in collaboration with Japan Airlines and Japan Foundation, supported by Japanese government ministries and Japanese local governments. Students from several countries around the world will be taking part in this program. The students of the Division have been winning this scholarship annually date back few years ago. This year is a remarkable one because the student who won this scholarship, Ms. Lee has been learning Japanese for only 7 months (1.5 semesters)! The student has to submit an essay in Japanese and sit for an interview conducted 100% in Japanese. This achievement has greatly motivated our students, as well as the Division
